Tootsie Bear Day Care & Preschool is a quality, state-licensed in-home day care and preschool. We provide professional preschool and child care services to the Wisconsin Rapids area for children ages 2 to 12 years. Our small group size (maximum of 8 children at any time) allows the teacher to develop a bond with each child.

A clean, developmentally appropriate classroom invites children to be comfortable and secure. A carefully planned curriculum allows play to take precedence, while offering learning opportunities throughout the day. Our large fenced outdoor play area offers lots of room for large motor activity.

Tootsie Bear Day Care & Preschool offers morning Preschool Classes for children 2 years to 5 years of age as well as part and full day child care. Our preschool curriculum is theme based, with an emphasis on play based learning. We focus on social relationships, langugage skills, problem solving, fine and gross motor development, and self-help skills. Activities are incorporated that promote letter, number, shape, and color recognition. We work to instill values such as respect, caring, cooperation, and politeness. Our preschool program will prepare your child for success in kindergarten and beyond.

About the Teacher - Kim Gachnang
I have been providing quality care and a learning environment since 1997. In 2002 I earned the Wisconsin Infant and Toddler Professional Credential, and in 2004 received my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I attend workshops, classes, and conferences regularly pertaining to the development of children and also am certified in CPR/First Aid/AED for adults, children, and infants.

I have been a member of the Child Care Advocates Council in Wisconsin Rapids since 1999, having held the positions of President, Secretary, and Historian. I am a member of the Wisconsin Family Child Care Association, serving as the Vice President and Conference Coordinator for the annual state conference, as well as chairperson of the website committee. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association, The National Association of Family Child Care, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
